ReStore Spotlight: Pineville & Wendover Stores
After spotlighting the Gaston and Wilkinson ReStores last month, I picked a couple of more stores to visit in September. This time, I wanted to tell you why I love the Pineville and Wendover ReStores- and which sections of each location keep me coming back, time and time again.
Pineville ReStore
11812 Carolina Place Pkwy., Pineville, NC 28134
Ever since I moved to the Charlotte area several years ago, I’ve had a soft spot in my heart for the Pineville ReStore. In fact, I’ve found multiple pieces of furniture for our home here! Located near all the major shopping spots in Pineville, this store hits all the marks when it comes to home decor. But there are a few sections of the store that make it really stand out in my mind; here are my absolute favorite spots:
Area Rugs
For whatever reason, I often see impressive chairs, couches, and sofas at the Wilkinson store. In fact, the couch in our living room came from the Wilkinson ReStore! So, if you’re in the market for something upholstered, don’t pass up this location.
Glass Light Globes
For upcyclers and crafters, glass light globes are FULL of creative potential- for very little money. I’ve found lots of glass shades and light globes at this ReStore, both for upcycled crafts and to use as decorative accents.
Dining Chairs
This ReStore location always has an amazing selection of wood and metal chairs- whole sets, pairs, and singles. Whether you need several for a table, or a single chair to drape clothes on in your bedroom, I bet the Pineville store has exactly what you need.
Lamps
There’s a corner in the Pineville store that is a lamp lovers heaven. Table lamps, floor lamps, lampshades, you name it. And a lot of them are nearly new- so if you’re looking to illuminate a room in your home, give this ReStore a shot to help you fill that need.
Wendover ReStore
1133 N. Wendover Rd., Charlotte, NC 28211
Centrally located in Charlotte, the Wendover location is the Charlotte Region ReStores’ flagship store. It is by far the most well-known location within the area and popular for all sorts of reasons. Let me tell you why I love the Wendover store so much.
Showcasse Rooms
One of the first things you’ll see when you walk into this store are the “wall of rooms” along the side. These areas are like mini showrooms for some of the newest and most exciting pieces of furniture, art, and light fixtures that Wendover has to offer. And it’s always so nice to stand back and take everything in all at once.
Light Fixtures
From pendant lights to chandeliers, Wendover always has a tremendous number of light fixtures available. Not only is there a light fixture section within the center of the store, but there are light fixtures in the showcase rooms AND even more along the back of the store.
Vintage Furniture
For anyone who has a soft spot for vintage and antique furniture, the Wendover location always has an excellent selection. From dining sets to china cabinets, make sure you check the furniture next to the entrance to Julia’s Café & Books.
Books
Speaking of Julia’s…OF COURSE the bookstore is one of my favorite aspects of the Wendover location. Not only do I love to read, but I also use a lot of vintage books in my décor- and Wendover always has a fantastic selection of those available.
