ReStore Spotlight: Statesville, Mooresville, and Cornelius
It’s time to wrap up all my visits to the different Charlotte Region ReStores and tell you which sections of each store have me coming back time and time again. Come along with me as I visit the Statesville, Mooresville, and Cornelius ReStores.
Statesville ReStore
1885 E. Broad St., Statesville, NC 28625
This location may be the furthest one away from Charlotte proper, but don’t let that dissuade you from visiting. The competition is far less at this ReStore, which makes scoring treasures even easier. When I visit, these are the sections I always make a beeline for:
Vintage Furniture

The Statesville furniture section is the first thing you see when you enter. But I always head straight to the center of the store, where you can find all sorts of vintage vanities, dressers, and more. Whether you like antique waterfall pieces or retro bamboo furnishings, you never know- Statesville might just have the vintage piece you’ve been dreaming of.
Craft Supplies
As an avid crafter and upcycler, I love to find craft supplies at thrift stores. Yarn, greeting cards, and other crafty bits are crafty things I look for, and the Statesville ReStore always has a nice selection.
Books and Media

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but reading is VERY trendy these days. And avid readers (like yours truly) know, buying new books can really add up. Thankfully, each ReStore has a selection of secondhand books to choose from- including the Statesville location. Not only do they have a tidy collection of books to peruse, but other physical media (DVDs, CDs, etc.), as well.
Mooresville ReStore
121 Norman Station Blvd, Mooresville, NC 28117
The Mooresville store is super easy to get to, located right off I-77. And it’s a HUGE store, so give yourself plenty of time to shop there. Especially in these sections, which are my absolute favorites:
Home Improvement Supplies

Of all the ReStores in the Charlotte Region, the Mooresville store is the one my husband always visits with me. Because this location has an impressive selection of all things home improvement- tools, hardware, paint, etc.
Wall Art
Like many thrifty decorators, hunting for secondhand art and wall hangings is a favorite pastime. ESPECIALLY if the paintings and prints are hung on a wall for easy viewing- just like what you find at the Mooresville location.
Furniture

One of the best parts about the Mooresville store is the size- it really is a huge store! And a LOT of it is filled with an impressive selection of furniture. So many upholstered sofas and chairs, as well as dining sets and cabinets. But don’t sleep on the rows of desks and end tables, either- lots of hidden gems can be found there.
Holiday Decor
One of the countless benefits of thrift shopping is being able to find seasonal decor year-round. And if you love Christmas decorations and supplies, the Mooresville ReStore needs to be on your list. Because they always have an abundance of wreaths, ornaments, trees, and other festive trimmings.
Cornelius ReStore
20414 N Main St, Cornelius, NC 28031
Located near Davidson’s charming downtown, the Cornelius ReStore is one of my all-time favorite locations. I shop there constantly, looking for housewares to upcycle and furnishings to add to my home. It really is a fantastic location if hunting for decor is your jam, too. Here are some of my favorite sections of the Cornelius store:

Jewelry
You might not think of the Charlotte Region ReStores as places to find secondhand jewelry, but nearly every location have a selection. Admittedly, though, the Cornelius store is my favorite place to look for it. In fact, their selection even inspired this fun way to upcycle broken pieces and orphaned charms.
Vintage Treasures
Thrifting is a great way to score vintage treasures for far less than an antiques store. Cornelius always seems to have a unique selection every time I go- not just vintage furniture, but unusual accents as well. Think lamps, typewriters, and other decorative objects.
Home Decor

Dishes, pottery, and knick knacks- Oh, my! This location is renowned for its housewares section and for good reason- the selection is huge and the treasures are top notch.
Furniture

I’m always blown away by the quality of the furniture that I see at the Cornelius store. From sofas to coffee tables to hutches and more, everything feels more “boutique” than “thrift”. You may even want to borrow your friend’s pickup truck before you arrive here- I’m just saying!
If you haven’t been the “Northern” stores in the Charlotte Region area, I hope this post encourages you to do so. But if you’re familiar with these stores, I hope you’ll let us know what your favorite sections are in each one. And as always, we hope you’ll share the treasures that you find by tagging @cltregionrestore on Instagram and Facebook!
